Led Zeppelin fans pay $250 for old tickets
Tickets to Led Zeppelin's reunion show at London's 02 Arena earlier this month were a hot commodity, priced at 125 British pounds (roughly $250 US). Now that the concert is over, the stubs from those used tickets are also going for about $250, as are the wristbands associated with those tickets. The items have been turning up on eBay and other auction sites, with one seller who attending the show saying, "I was one of the lucky ones. This is the ticket from the show 20 million people wanted to go to." Reports abound that only numbered ticket holders can purchase T-shirts commemorating the one-off concert, which could explain the rush to acquire the stubs.
Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has confirmed that he will be touring with Alison Krauss in May to promote their new album, Raising Sand. However, the Belfast Telegraph says negotiations are under way to bring Zeppelin to Belfast, where the band performed "Stairway To Heaven" live for the first time, 36 years ago.
