Paul Rodgers reveals set list for Ahmet Ertegun tribute
Free and Bad Company founding member Paul Rodgers is getting set to play the Led Zeppelin gig on Monday (December 10th). The heavily anticipated concert, a tribute to late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, will feature the surviving members of Zeppelin performing together for the first time in 18 years. Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, Pete Townsend, Paolo Nutini, and Foreigner are also scheduled to appear. Zeppelin plans to play about a two-hour set, and Rodgers tells us he will likely do a few songs, including a Bad Company track: [
Click to listen if you have a backstage pass] "I'm just doing a couple of songs. I think I'll probably do something from the first album -- an acoustic song, and maybe 'All Right Now.' It's an audience pleaser. And I'm playing with Billy Wyman and his wonderful band, so that will be great." Rodgers has been working with Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor on new material. They recently released the song "Say It's Not True" to mark World AIDS Day and help Nelson Mandela with his campaign against AIDS.
Queen frontman Freddie Mercury died of an AIDS-related illness in 1991.
