AC/DC to tour in 2008?
AC/DC is heavily rumored to be hitting the road later this year, according to reports on several Spanish web sites. According to The Metal Circus, AC/DC will mount a tour in late 2008, with a source telling the site that the band's crew has been alerted to get ready. No further details were revealed. Meanwhile, another Spanish site, RafaBasa.com, has reported that the band will play several secret shows at the end of January, with Switzerland, Italy and the U.K. named as possible locales. The Italian branch of the band's record label denied any such show taking place, and a U.S. label representative did not respond to inquiries.A Swiss television station actually ran a report on the rumored show there, claiming that it will take place on January 25th in the town of Reinach.
RafaBasa.com also reported that AC/DC has been quietly working on its first new album since 2000's Stiff Upper Lip, tentatively titled Strap It On, with an April release possible. Recording was delayed on the disc allegedly because guitarist Angus Young was recovering from a knee injury.
The new disc is said to reunite AC/DC with producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange, who was behind the board for the classic Highway to Hell and Back in Black.
