Deluxe book commemorates the Rolling Stones' 1969 U.S. Tour
Out now is a deluxe photo book Let It Bleed: The Rolling Stones 1969 U.S. Tour. The book, which features the work of legendary photographer Ethan Russell, chronicles the Stones' career from just before the infamous tour which ended on December 6th, 1969, with the tragic concert at the Altamont Speedway.
Russell's book features shots taken at the taping of the Stones' long unreleased 1968 TV special Rock And Roll Circus; their July 3rd, 1969 memorial concert for late guitarist Brian Jones in London's Hyde Park; and the band's 1969 tour, which was their first in over two years. The Stones are captured both on and off stage, and sharing intimate moments with their opening acts Chuck Berry and Ike & Tina Turner.
The collectors' edition book comes in a print run of 2,600 and is available in two formats. Numbers 1-750 comprise the deluxe edition, complete with a handmade Ethan Russell print. Numbers 751-2600 comprise the standard version. Each book is signed and numbered by the author.
The standard edition costs $650, and the deluxe edition, which includes a print by Russell, goes for $950.
