Aerosmith guitarist rocks for charity
Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry will perform at two benefit shows to raise money for Musicians On Call, an organization that brings music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. He's joining his sons Tony and Adrian Perry, who play in up-and-coming group, TAB The Band, at the New York and Boston gigs. The Boston show is scheduled for February 29th at the Hard Rock Cafe. The New York is slated for March 1st. TAB The Band will go on to do a series of dates, touching down in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Atlantic City, Detroit and Cleveland. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com. Adrian, who is 26, sings and plays bass. Joe Perry's other son, Tony, is 21 and plays guitar. Drummer Ben Tileston will be backing them on the road. Joe Perry says TAB The Band "are growing into their sound, and it's amazing to see them put together gigs and mind their way in this business where the record companies just don't work the way they used to." He adds, ''They have their own path to cut, and they're making it with distance between the A-word -- their dad's band -- and their own efforts. I've encouraged that. They're so good, and they're so much more mature than I was at that age."
