Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu kick off the Taste of Chaos

Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu kick off the annual Taste of Chaos tour on Friday night (February 29th) in Denver, leading a bill that also includes Bullet For My Valentine, Bless The Fall, Idiot Pilot and three bands from the Japanese rock or "J-Rock" scene: Mucc, D'Espairsray and the Underneath. Atreyu frontman Alex Varkatzas told us he's expecting to have a good time: [ Click to listen if you have a backstage pass] "It's gonna be a good tour, you know. We're real excited. We've toured with Bullet For My Valentine before over in the U.K., so it'll be cool to tour with them. And then we haven't toured with Avenged Sevenfold in kind of a while, really, so it'll be good to be back out with those dudes. I expect it to be a pretty rad tour."

The 46-city Taste of Chaos run will wrap up on April 15th in Seattle.

Taste of Chaos is produced by the creators of the Warped Tour, who are also staging this summer's inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour.

Atreyu is promoting its major label debut, Lead Sails Paper Anchor, which arrived last summer, while Avenged Sevenfold issued its self-titled fourth album at the end of October.
