Deep Purple rock the Kremlin

Deep Purple played a private concert at the Kremlin in Moscow on Monday (February 11th), at a gala to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Russian gas company Gazprom, Reuters reports. In the audience was company chairman Dmitry Medvedev, who is likely to be the next Prime Minister of Russia.

Medvedev had told interviewers that Deep Purple was his favorite band, and company officials hired the band just for him.

Reportedly, the audience of mostly middle-aged executives stayed seated and impassive during the show.

President Vladimir Putin attended the event, but left before Deep Purple took the stage.
