Green Day frontman: Stop filming shows
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is apparently not pleased that many fans film concerts and upload them to sites such as YouTube. According to Gigwise.com, Armstrong was playing with his side project, Pinhead Gunpowder, last Monday (February 4th) in Los Angeles when he requested that audience members put their cameras away. Armstrong reportedly said, "YouTube can't own everything. There's also something called memories." The Los Angeles show and one the previous night (February 3rd) in Anaheim were the group's first since 2001.Pinhead Gunpowder has been around as far back as 1991, but Armstrong had to put the project on the shelf years ago as Green Day became more popular.
Green Day was last reported to be entering the studio this month to begin recording the official follow-up to 2004's American Idiot.
Meanwhile, another alleged Green Day offshoot, the Foxboro Hot Tubs, continues to climb the rock charts with their new single, "Mother Mary." Several clues about the group have led to speculation that the Hot Tubs are actually Green Day in disguise.
