Green Day singer in converse ads
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O are two of the artists appearing in a new ad campaign for Converse sneakers, titled "Connectivity," according to Pitchfork Media. The campaign will also feature images of Joan Jett, rapper Common and British vocalist M.I.A., as well as deceased individuals such as Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious, Joy Division singer Ian Curtis, actor James Dean and writer Hunter S. Thompson.
The campaign is designed to celebrate Converse's first century in existence. A press release stated that the campaign got its name by "visually 'connecting' past and present Converse icons."
The "Connectivity" ads are set to debut in the spring.
Armstrong and Karen O are both reportedly working on new albums with their respective groups.
