Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder mounts first solo tour
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will embark on his first-ever solo tour in April, according to Billboard.com. The singer will be supporting the soundtrack CD for the film Into the Wild, which is more or less Vedder's first solo album as well. He'll begin the trek on April 2nd in Vancouver, Canada, with just seven West Coast shows confirmed so far. It's not clear how many dates Vedder will play in full. There's also no word on whether he'll be accompanied by a backup band or will perform alone.Ticket info for the tour can be found at pearljam.com.
The Into the Wild track "Guaranteed" recently won a Golden Globe award for best original song. The CD also includes the single "Hard Sun."
Vedder has also contributed a song called "No More" to the soundtrack of the documentary Body of War. The album comes out on March 18th and also includes songs from Serj Tankian and Tom Morello.
Pearl Jam will reportedly begin working on its next studio album next month and is scheduled to co-headline Tennessee's Bonnaroo festival in mid-June.
