Bon Jovi gets ready for the spotlight
The members of Bon Jovi are ready for a busy year. They're currently out on an extensive tour and also have a documentary and biography in the works. Bon Jovi is teaming up with Academy Award-winning director Barbara Kopple and a film crew for a documentary about the band's first 25 years. Frontman Jon Bon Jovi says the project is an extension of a biography they had been working on with author David Ritz. He says after years of trying to stay a bit more behind-the-scenes, he's finally ready to have the band's story told: [
Click to listen if you have a backstage pass] "I've been notorious for closing the doors. I'm guilty never having enough film, footage or photographs simply because I kept the doors shut. I realize I'm cheating us and our fans and some people who have not been fans that can be converted. There's been a lot of accomplishments in 25 years. This isn't nostalgia. This isn't a reunion tour. It's pretty big, and there's a story there." Bon Jovi recently received an Academy of Country Music award nomination in the category of Vocal Event of the Year for the song "Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore" featuring LeAnn Rimes. The awards air May 18th on CBS.
Bon Jovi's tour stops in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, March 5th, featuring rock band Daughtry as the opener. The band is out behind the 2007 album, Lost Highway.
