Def Leppard collaboration tapped for NBA

Tim McGraw teams up with legendary rock group Def Leppard on a song called "Nine Lives," the band's debut single from their upcoming album, Songs From the Sparkle Lounge. The collaboration has become the featured track in a special opening segment recorded for NBA games airing on ABC throughout the rest of the season and then on both ABC and ESPN into the playoffs.

Exclusive new video footage featuring McGraw and Def Leppard was shot recently in Los Angeles. The video debuted on Sunday, March 9th prior to the game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Phoenix Suns.

McGraw and Def Leppard first paired up during the rockers' 2006 Hollywood Bowl show where McGraw joined the band on stage for an encore performance of "Pour Some Sugar on Me." The acts stayed in touch following the performance, and when the band started writing the song "Nine Lives" they immediately thought of McGraw. Guitarist Phil Collen flew to Nashville to play it for McGraw, who loved it and recorded the song in Nashville shortly after.

Def Leppard's new album, Songs From The Sparkle Lounge, will be released on April 29th.
