Def Leppard: New album and TV gigs

Veteran British glam-metal band Def Leppard will make two appearances on ABC television prior to issuing its new album, Blabbermouth reports. The first show will be Dancing With The Stars on April 29th. The band is also doing an outdoor mini-concert on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on April 30th, the same day its new album, Songs From the Sparkle Lounge, is issued in Japan. The album, due May 6th in North America, is Def Leppard's first collection of original material since 2002's X. They issued a collection of cover tunes called Yeah! in 2007. Information on the new album can be found online at CDJapan.co.jp.

A sample of Def Leppard's new single, "Nine Lives," has been posted at the Def Leppard Satellite of Love web site, DefLeppardSOL.com. The song was co-written by country music superstar Tim McGraw.

Def Leppard is number 61 on OK! magazine's Top 100 Rich List of U.K. showbiz acts. In 2007, Def Leppard earned four million pounds (approximately $8 million). In 2006, the band was number 39 on the list with 7.5 million pounds (approximately $15 million).
