Motley Crue announcing "Cruefest"?
Sources have told us that the "colossal announcement" planned by Motley Crue for April 15th may be to unveil something called "Cruefest" to the world. Few details were available about whether "Cruefest" will simply be a tour or a full-fledged festival in the style of Ozzfest, but rumors already circulating online indicate that Buckcherry, Drowning Pool and Papa Roach are at least some of the bands also on board. All four acts, including the Crue, share the same management. The Crue will make what's being hyped as "one of the biggest music announcements of the year" in Los Angeles. The band is launching a contest in which one grand prize winner from each major city in the country will be flown to Los Angeles to cover the announcement and interview the group.
The band is currently working on its ninth studio album, titled The Dirt and tentatively due out on July 8th.
Bassist Nikki Sixx says the band's enduring popularity is based on their history and their reputation as a live act: [
Click to listen if you have a backstage pass] "When the original band is back together, they're like, 'I know what that is. I know it's potent. I know that this band more than any other and is completely over the top and we need to see it, because we never got to see it.' The people that did see it, it's like, 'You've got to go see this. It's the real deal.'''Submit the above story to:
