New management for Guns N' Roses
Guns N' Roses and frontman Axl Rose have signed with new management, according to a statement posted online by Rose himself. The singer wrote, "I am very pleased to announce that Guns N' Roses and I are now represented by the management team of Irving Azoff and Andy Gould. We are very excited and look forward to working with them and hope our relationship proves beneficial for everyone, especially the fans."According to Blabbermouth.net, Azoff, a longtime music business titan, only recently stopped managing Velvet Revolver, the band featuring ex-Guns members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. Azoff still represents Velvet Revolver vocalist Scott Weiland.
Gould is best known in the business as Rob Zombie's longtime manager and producer of all three of his feature films.
Guns N' Roses has been without management since December of 2006, when Rose fired manager Merck Mercuriadis. The hiring of new representation is already leading to speculation that the band's long-delayed Chinese Democracy may finally see the light of day.
The Dr. Pepper soft drink company announced last week that it will give a free soda to everyone in America if Chinese Democracy surfaces in 2008.
