Radiohead going back to the studio
Radiohead plans to head back into the studio soon with producer Nigel Godrich to work on new material, according to PitchforkMedia.com. Bassist Colin Greenwood told the web site, "We're actually gonna be working with Nigel again soon -- we've reserved time and we've got stuff we want to do. It's like having an old-school executive producer that's talking about the bigger picture and booking time to be creative." Greenwood did not indicate whether the material would form the basis of an entirely new album or be used for other purposes.
He also responded "Don't know yet" when asked if the band might preview some new songs on its upcoming tour, adding, "Thom (Yorke, singer) came in with a list of 70 songs we're rehearsing for the tour and it's like, f***ing hell! So it's been real difficult to remember stuff."
Yorke has also contributed a remix to a collection of classical music tracks titled Cortical Songs, which is due out in May.
Radiohead is strongly rumored to be headlining this year's Lollapalooza, scheduled for August 1st, 2nd and 3rd at Grant Park in Chicago, along with Nine Inch Nails and Rage Against The Machine.
The British band is already confirmed as headliners for the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco and the All Points West Festival in New Jersey, both scheduled for August. The group is also doing a short U.S. tour in May.
