Sixx A.M. postpones live dates

Sixx A.M., the side project from Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx, has postponed its spring tour due to "unforeseen circumstances" and "will most likely hit the road in the summer of 2008," according to a statement released by the group. Sixx A.M. recently launched a Web site where fans could choose the cities in which the band should play live, with the winning cities and tour schedule originally slated to be unveiled on February 28th. Now the votesixxam.com site has posted a message saying that fans should check sixxammusic.com for updates on the tour.

The message also indicated that the fans' votes have been counted and "will be instrumental in determining which markets the band visits in the future."

Sixx wrote and recorded the Sixx A.M. album with longtime friends James Michael and D.J. Ashba. The disc serves as the "soundtrack" to Sixx's memoir, The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star.

The CD's newest single is called "Pray For Me."

It's not clear whether Sixx A.M. can tour this summer, since Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee recently posted online that the Crue will begin a new world tour on July 4th. The band is prepping its first studio album in eight years, titled The Dirt, for a tentative July 8th release.
