Van Halen not in rehab says ex-wife

Valerie Bertinelli says ex-husband Eddie Van Halen is not back in rehab, People reports. Speaking at a Hallmark Channel luncheon in New York Wednesday (March 12th), Bertinelli said, "The reports about him being in rehab are wrong. Eddie is sober. He's being proactive about his illness." As for Eddie's specific ailment, Valerie said, "I don't think it's my place (to comment)." Earlier this week, Van Halen's namesake band announced it was postponing its tour until April 19th so that the guitarist could "continue medical tests to define a course of treatment."

An earlier National Enquirer report claimed Van Halen had checked into a Texas rehab clinic following a backstage fight with his teenage son Wolfgang, who now plays bass in the band. Bertinelli, who's Wolfgang's mother, said she talks to Eddie "about every other day," adding, "He wants to get back on tour. I think they'll be back on the road by April 19th."
