Bomb scare delays Bon Jovi concert
Bon Jovi was forced to delay Saturday night's (April 26th) concert in Sunrise, Florida by three hours due to a bomb scare. The Miami Herald reports that the audience was asked to leave the venue so bomb-sniffing dogs could search the BankAtlantic Center. The band was scheduled to go on at 7:30, but didn't take the stage until about 10:45. Jon Bon Jovi told the crowd, "I want to thank you for sticking around. It's sad but true but we now have to be aware of our surroundings. When the call came in during sound check, the police chief said it was serious. I want to thank the men and women in the police department.'' An estimated 18,000 fans waited outside for the show to start, many of them playing Bon Jovi music from their cars to kill the time.Police said they received several calls about a bomb threat, but nothing suspicious was ever found.
Bon Jovi's next show is on Wednesday, April 30th in Atlanta. Daughtry is the opening act.
Bon Jovi plans to release a documentary featuring archival video and footage from the latest tour.
