Foo Fighters add to summer tour
Foo Fighters have begun adding dates to the schedule for their upcoming summer North American tour, which now begins on July 9th in Seattle. In addition to headlining arena and amphitheatre shows, the group will top the bill at the 2008 Virgin Mobile Festival in Baltimore on August 9th and the Virgin Festival in Toronto on September 6th. More dates will be announced in the next few weeks. The latest single from the group's Grammy-winning 2007 album, Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace, is "Let It Die." Bassist Nate Mendel told us that the song has taken on a life of its own on the road: [

That one really blossomed into a song that's gonna be with us for a while, I think." Support on the entire Foo Fighters summer tour will come from Supergrass.
Foo Fighters will visit overseas between now and July, with shows slated for Japan, Australia and Europe. The group is also headlining two sold-out June dates at London's Wembley Stadium.
In other news, a New Zealand radio station was forced to apologize after an April Fool's Day prank got out of hand. Auckland station "The Rock" announced a fake Foo Fighters acoustic performance at a small venue in the city, leading the station to be barraged with calls, while fans took off from work and even planned flights to attend. The station finally admitted it was a hoax, with the program director saying the stunt caused "absolute carnage."
