Jethro Tull: 40th anniversary tour
Jethro Tull will celebrate 40 years with a collectors edition CD and an upcoming tour. The band will release a two-disc version of its 1968 debut album, This Was, featuring a stereo version of the original mono mix, along with nine bonus tracks, including recordings for John Peel's BBC Radio program, plus four rare 1968 UK singles: "Sunshine Day," "Song For John Gee," "Love Story," and "Christmas Song." The commemorative package includes 35 tracks, as well as package notes and anecdotes from Jethro Tull's members.Jethro Tull will go out on a U.S. and U.K. tour to back the release. The outing, dubbed "An Evening With Jethro Tull," will feature a special guest each night, as Ian Anderson honors past band members, friends and local musicians. And there are a few others that are frequent visitors. We'll often play a bit of 'Thick as a Brick' and the instrumental 'Bouree.' A few frequent travelers."
