Led Zeppelin ride gives fans a run for their money
The Hard Rock Park's signature Led Zeppelin ride won't open until April 15th, but that hasn't stopped people from bidding on being the first to ride the roller coaster on its first public run. According to MyrtleBeachOnline.com, 45-year-old Cindy Ennis says she's the top bidder for a charity eBay auction for seats on Led Zeppelin: The Ride. She's dishing out $1,829 to snag the first two rows, which includes four seats for her and her family. Ennis said she's not a roller coaster "enthusiast," but the idea of being so close to the front of the ride and "being the first of something" was what intrigued her. When the park opens, a day's visit will go for $50. This auction will donate all funds to the Sara Goodwin Memorial Foundation for underprivileged children. Park CEO Steven Goodwin has said he will donate twice the top bid.
Hard Rock Park will celebrate its opening this year with special performances by the Eagles and the Moody Blues in June.
Led Zeppelin took part in creating the ride.
