Rush guitarist confirms changes for 2008 tour leg

Confirming comments made by Rush drummer Neil Peart at his personal blog a few weeks ago, guitarist Alex Lifeson said that the band is changing the set list around a bit for its next stretch of touring, which begins on April 11th in Puerto Rico. Lifeson explained that the shuffle is partially because the band is visiting some cities it hasn't played in years: [ Click to listen if you have a backstage pass] "You know, we thought, going back to some of these markets that we haven't been to in a while, we should maybe revisit some older songs that we're not playing currently or haven't been in the last little while. So we changed out a few songs in the set. But, you know, we're gonna keep it loose and maybe kind of bounce back and forth. We'll see once we get started."

Lifeson told Billboard.com that he planned to keep the new additions to the live show "a secret" until the tour begins.

Peart wrote at his blog, "We plan to make a few changes to the set list and presentation to freshen it up a little."

Rush will release a two-CD concert set, called Snakes & Arrows Live, on April 15th. The package was recorded last October at the Ahoy Rotterdam arena in the Netherlands while the group was touring behind 2007's Snakes & Arrows, its first new studio album in five years.

A DVD shot at the same performance will be out in the summer or fall, according to Billboard.com.
