Van Halen tour resumed

Van Halen was scheduled to resume its reunion tour with singer David Lee Roth on Thursday night (April 17th) in Reno, Nevada, to be followed by a performance in Las Vegas on Saturday (April 19th) at Tiger Jam XI, an annual fundraiser hosted by pro golf star Tiger Woods. Woods, a fan who has already seen the current tour twice, told Spinner.com, "Van Halen is one of the greatest rock bands of all time. We are honored to have them perform at this year's Tiger Jam." The group's ongoing world tour was put on ice in March after guitarist Eddie Van Halen was diagnosed with an unspecified medical condition.

Following Tiger Jam XI, the quartet will head to Cincinnati on the 22nd to begin the jaunt in earnest, with shows running through June 2nd in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tickets for all the original dates are good for the new shows, and refunds are also available at point of purchase.

Promoters stated last month that Eddie Van Halen was undergoing "medical tests to define a course of treatment," although both his son, bassist Wolfgang Van Halen, and his ex-wife, actress Valerie Bertinelli, went public to reassure fans that the guitarist was doing "great." A recurrence of cancer or a fall off the wagon were both rumored as the cause of the guitarist's woes.

The first Van Halen tour in 22 years with Roth behind the mic has been a smash success since kicking off last fall.
