Bon Jovi to play New York's Central Park
Transplanted Jersey boy Jon Bon Jovi has turned his sights on New York for Bon Jovi's final show of their current tour. Specifically, he's announced that instead of performing at Giants Stadium in New Jersey, as the band has traditionally done, they'll do their finale show in New York's Central Park. The entrepreneurial musician -- who is also the co-owner of the Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul -- told SportsIllustrated.com, "We always end every tour at Giants Stadium, but we're going to do Central Park this year. That hasn't been announced yet, (but) there you go, we're doing Central Park." However, Bon Jovi reminded Billboard.com that there is "nothing confirmed. A lot of approvals have to be gotten."
Garth Brooks, the Dave Matthews Band, and many other major artists have performed in Central Park over the years.
Bon Jovi's current tour is being filmed as part of a documentary by award-winning cinematographer Barbara Kopple. There is no release date for the project yet.
