Roger Waters' tour pig found
The giant inflatable pig that drifted off during Roger Waters' Coachella Festival set this past weekend has been discovered. The helium-filled pig was found in pieces by two separate nearby residents in California, according to the Associated Press. Concert organizers were offering a $10,000 reward for the pig's return, so the two families split the cash, along with four lifelong passes to the Coachella Festival in Indio, California. The pig was as tall as a two-story house and as wide as two school buses, and floated away during Waters' performance of Pink Floyd's "Pigs." One of the local residents found pieces of the pig on top of a plant in her front yard, and the other stumbled upon the rest of the deflated pig in her driveway.
As is usual at Waters' recent shows, the pig was emblazoned with political slogans. This one featured the words "Don't be led to the slaughter" and a cartoon of Uncle Sam. The other side had the phrase "Fear builds walls." There was also the word "Obama" with a checked ballot box for Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
Waters and Pink Floyd first used an inflatable pig for the album cover of the band's 1977 album Animals. Since then, versions of the stage prop have appeared at many of their live shows.
