Scott Weiland to serve jail time before tour
Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland will serve his jail sentence for drunk driving before the band kicks off its 65-date tour on May 17th in Columbus, Ohio, according to Entertainment Weekly. Weiland was hit with a 92-hour jail sentence, four years probation and a $2,000 fine. He also has to participate in an 18-month alcohol program. The arrest happened in November, shortly after Weiland had finished a previous three-year probation stemming from his 2004 DUI arrest. Last fall, he was booked and released after posting $40,000 bail. Weiland then entered a rehab facility in February. Weiland is working on a second solo album, which will feature No Doubt drummer Adrian Young. Weiland's first solo release, 12 Bar Blues, came out in 1998. He's also supposedly working on material for a new Stone Temple Pilots album.
Stone Temple Pilots will play Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, May 1st.
