Foo Fighters "Greatest Hits" coming in November
Foo Fighters will release a greatest hits package in November, according to a representative for the band's management. No details on the track listing are yet available, but the set is likely to include songs from all six of the band's studio albums, including last year's Grammy-winning Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace. There is also no word yet on whether the collection will feature a DVD component or additional bonus features.Meanwhile, the band is in the midst of a summer tour that stops on Wednesday (July 23rd) in Indianapolis and will wrap up in late September with two shows in Las Vegas. While a new studio album is certainly on the group's radar, frontman Dave Grohl told us he has no idea yet what direction it will take: [

We actually sat around and talked about how we're gonna make the next record, and I don't know when we're gonna make it, but we're already trying to figure it out. And I have no idea what it's gonna sound like. That's why I love being in this band, because who knows what's gonna happen." Foo Fighters won Grammy Awards earlier this year for Best Rock Album and Best Hard Rock Performance.
The band has been on a very successful world tour since last fall, which included two recent sold-out dates at London's Wembley Stadium. The shows sold a total of 165,000 tickets to become both the biggest performances of the band's 13-year career and the largest shows yet staged at the historic stadium.
Foo Fighters also participated in the recent VH1 Rock Honors tribute to the Who, which was taped earlier this month and premiered last week.
Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace has sold 770,000 copies since coming out last fall. The set's latest single is called "Let It Die."
