Foo Fighters' London concerts featuring Led Zeppelin members coming to DVD
Foo Fighters' two June gigs at London's Wembley Stadium, the largest shows the band has ever played, will be chronicled on DVD later this summer, according to NME.com. An 18-song disc called Foo Fighters: Live at Wembley Stadium, culled from the June 6th and 7th concerts, arrives in the U.K. on August 23rd. The set will include the second night's guest appearance by Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones, who jammed with the Foos on the Zeppelin classics "Rock and Roll" and "Ramble On." The shows sold a total of 165,000 tickets to become both the biggest performances of the band's 13-year career and the largest shows yet staged at the historic stadium.
It is not yet clear if the package will be issued in the U.S.
A Foo Fighters greatest hits album containing two new tracks is due out in North America on November 11th, with a special two-disc edition slated to include a bonus DVD. It is possible that the Wembley footage could appear on this disc.
The band is in the midst of a summer North American tour that will wrap up in late September with two shows in Las Vegas.
