Foo Fighters postpone shows as Dave Grohl falls ill
Foo Fighters were forced to postpone their two-night stand at Morrison, Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Monday (July 14th) and Tuesday (July 15th) due to illness on the part of frontman Dave Grohl. The concerts have been rescheduled to September 8th and 9th. Grohl said in a statement issued by his publicist, "As much as it kills us to postpone shows, I'm in no shape to deliver the kind of balls-out performances that you guys deserve. We're already looking forward to September when we can make it up to everyone ten times over."The nature of Grohl's illness was not disclosed, but the shows were postponed as a result of doctors' orders. His publicist said he was suffering from "serious throat issues."
Refunds for the original dates are available at the point of purchase.
Foo Fighters will resume their current North American tour on Thursday (July 17th) in Oklahoma City.
The band took part in an all-star tribute to the Who this past weekend for the new VH1 Rock Honors special, which will also premiere on Thursday night.
