Jon Bon Jovi gets busy helping out people in need
Singer Jon Bon Jovi is in the midst of a tour, but he's also setting aside some time to help out people in need. According to the Associated Press, Bon Jovi was in Detroit for a Monday night (July 7th) show as part of his band's Lost Highway tour. And while there he announced the building of five new homes in a needy community -- a project he spearheaded with his Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation, Saturn, and Habitat for Humanity Detroit. He told the crowd, "I wanted to come back and give something back to you." After a short speech, Bon Jovi joked, "I have to go to my day job now." The band's touring "day job" has been keeping Bon Jovi members pretty busy. They stop in Boston on Wednesday, July 9th.
Bon Jovi is also gearing up to perform a free show in New York's Central Park on Saturday (July 12th) but some scalpers are already trying to make a profit. New York City has distributed 60,000 tickets -- with a limit of two per person. Despite a warning against re-selling them, some people are trying to scalp a pair of tickets anywhere from $99 to $1,500 on eBay. New York officials say they're contacting eBay to alert them about the issue.
Bon Jovi will wrap its Lost Highway tour on July 15th in New York City.
