Led Zeppelin releasing ultra-rare vinyl
Led Zeppelin is issuing a limited edition white vinyl version of The Song Remains the Same, the soundtrack to the 1976 concert film of the same name. According to AntiMusic.com, only 200 copies are being pressed and just 100 of those will be made available for sale exclusively through LedZeppelin.com. The 100 fans who receive the album will be selected at random from everyone who pre-orders it.Meanwhile, The Song Remains the Same will also be remastered and expanded with six additional songs for a four-LP set on 180-gram vinyl that will be issued on July 22nd. The deluxe set will feature liner notes from Almost Famous director and former Rolling Stone journalist Cameron Crowe.
The movie The Song Remains the Same was recently issued as a deluxe edition DVD.
Led Zeppelin reunited to perform for the first time in nearly two decades last December at a benefit concert in London.
Despite rumors and speculation, the band has not announced plans for a full-blown reunion tour, although the members have not ruled out future shows.
