Motley Crue set for free online concert

Motley Crue will perform a free online concert from the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas on Friday, August 1st. The live event will be available to anyone with broadband Internet access from DeepRockDrive.com, officially launching a series of partnerships with well-known live venues to present concerts to a global audience through the Web. Disturbed played a similar type of event in late May for DeepRockDrive.com, which bills itself as "the world's most popular destination for online, interactive concerts."

Each show at the site features interaction between viewers and the artists, with fans having the ability to send messages to the stage, make song requests, choose camera angles and even create digital applause in real time.

Motley Crue will hit the stage at 9:30 p.m. PT.

The Crue's new album, Saints of Los Angeles, has sold 150,000 copies in the U.S. since its June 24th release.

The band is currently headlining the first Crue Fest, a festival-style tour also featuring Buckcherry, Papa Roach and others. The tour pulls into Selma, Texas on Wednesday (July 23rd).
