Ozzy Osbourne planning next album

Ozzy Osbourne will begin work on his next studio album this fall, according to a bulletin at the singer's MySpace page. Osbourne plans to get down to business shortly after his concert appearances at the Monsters of Rock show in Calgary, Alberta, Canada this Saturday (July 26th) and his own Ozzfest 2008 in Dallas on Saturday, August 9th. The new disc will follow up 2007's Black Rain, which has sold more than 500,000 copies in the U.S. and was Osbourne's first all-new studio recording in six years.

Meanwhile, according to AntiMusic.com, Ozzy's wife and manager Sharon Osbourne revealed in an interview with a Philadelphia radio station that Ozzfest will return next year as a full-length tour instead of just a one-off date. Sharon also apparently indicated that she would love to have AC/DC as headliners on the tour.

Ozzfest was reduced to just the Dallas date this year after 2007's experimental tour, for which admission was free.

In other news, the Osbourne family is slated to return to television this fall in a new "reality variety" series on Fox tentatively titled The Osbournes: Loud and Dangerous. Fox has ordered six episodes of the one-hour series, which will be the family's first foray into TV since their MTV reality show, The Osbournes, became a pop culture phenomenon several years ago.

The new series will feature musical performances, comedy sketches, and game-show competitions.
