Offspring performs secret show in home area
The Offspring performed on Sunday night (August 3rd) at a small club called Chain Reaction in Anaheim, California. The gig was part of MySpace Secret Shows, a series of free, exclusive concerts for the MySpace community, and was the Offspring's first date in its home base of Orange County in nearly three years. The group has been playing mostly in Europe since issuing its new album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, last month, although it will appear at the Virgin Mobile Festival in Baltimore on August 9th and Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival on September 1st.Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace features the singles "Hammerhead" and "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid."
The disc is the band's first all-new studio offering since 2003's Splinter.
The Offspring has not yet unveiled full North American tour plans in support of the album. The group has scheduled an 11-date October swing through Japan.
Other acts that have performed MySpace Secret Shows include Gnarls Barkley, Slayer, Franz Ferdinand, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
