ZZ Top to rock New Mexico

Brooks & Dunn's Cowboy Town tour takes a bit of a rock turn beginning on Friday, August 1st in Albuquerque, New Mexico with the addition of special guest ZZ Top. The group will remain on the road with Brooks & Dunn through mid-September.

Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks told us that they feel ZZ Top have a multi-genre appeal. "(Dunn) We're bringin' in ZZ Top...and our first inclination was to go for the Top, just 'cause we knew 'em through CMT, and I think the music would be fun...(Brooks) We learned a really valuable lesson opening for The Rolling Stones that those kind of rock fans are not that different than our fans at all, and our fans are just like we are. You know, it's hard to say you don't dig ZZ Top! You just don't find those people very often."

Rodney Atkins will remain as the opening act on the Cowboy Town tour, which also plays in Phoenix on Saturday night (August 2nd) and Devore, California on Sunday (August 3rd).
