Deluxe edition of AC/DC album planned

AC/DC's upcoming album, Black Ice, will be available in a limited deluxe edition, according to fan website HighwayToHell.com. The deluxe set will come in a special hardcover package and contain an expanded 30-page booklet with exclusive artwork and both live and studio photographs of the group. No price information was revealed, but it's likely that the set will be available through Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and ACDC.com, the three exclusive sellers of Black Ice.

Black Ice arrives on October 21st.

Meanwhile, the first single from Black Ice, "Rock 'n' Roll Train," arrived everywhere last week. Guitarist Angus Young recalled the first time he ever heard his band on the radio: [ Click to listen if you have a backstage pass] "The first time I was in, actually, Adelaide (Australia) at the time, was the first time, and that was in '76. I remember a DJ came down to one of our shows and he took a chance, because they canned him the next day. 'Cause it was a very soft radio and he just said, 'Hey, I've got to play this.' And he got on and played one of our early tracks."

AC/DC will reportedly begin its first world tour in seven years on Halloween in Chicago, although that has yet to be confirmed.

ACDC.com has launched a new featured called "AC/DC 101" that provides an in-depth look at the band's history decade by decade.
