Led Zeppelin members jamming with Alter Bridge singer?

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham are reportedly rehearsing with Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy for a potential tour. This is according to online reports and an interview done by MuchMoreMusic with Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider, whose manager also works with Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant.

Plant has so far refused to commit to a full-blown Zeppelin reunion tour following the band's one-off charity show last December in London. Snider said in the interview, "They're saying (to Plant), 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go, here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid. And he can sing the s*** out of Zeppelin.'"

Snider added, "They're gonna, like, hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in, before having the lead singer of Alter Bridge out with John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Jason Bonham."

Page's U.S. manager had no comment on the report when asked directly by us, while representatives for Alter Bridge have also had nothing to say.

Speculation was intense after last December's acclaimed gig that a Zeppelin reunion tour would take place once Plant finished touring behind his album with country artist Alison Krauss, Raising Sand. But with that trek having wrapped last weekend, Plant's reps issued a statement saying, "Robert has no intention whatsoever of touring with anyone for at least the next two years."

Plant said himself, "It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head... I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects."

Page, Jones and Bonham have reportedly rehearsed with other singers as well. There's no official word on whether they plan to record new music, and it seems unlikely that any new lineup would use the name Led Zeppelin.

Kennedy, formerly with the Mayfield Four, launched Alter Bridge with three members of Creed in the wake of the band's demise. The group's second album, Blackbird, came out last fall. The band begins a U.K. tour next month.
