Bon Jovi and Springsteen have biggest grossing tours of the year
Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen have been named the biggest grossing touring artists of the year, based on data reported to Billboard Boxscore from November 14th, 2007 through November 11th, 2008. Billboard reported that Bon Jovi's Lost Highway tour grossed $210.6 million and drew 2,157,675 fans. Springsteen's Magic tour raked in $204.5 million for this year, with the receipts from the tour's 2007 portion amounting to $31 million -- which brings his two-year tally to over $235 million.Rounding out the top five on the Boxscore list was Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour, which grossed $162 million, the Police's second leg of their reunion, which took in $150 million; and Celine Dion's tour, which grossed $91 million. The others on the top ten were: Kenny Chesney -- $86 million; Neil Diamond -- $81.2 million; Spice Girls -- $70 million; the Eagles $56.6 million; and Rascal Flatts -- $55.8 million.
Springsteen's three-night summer stand at New Jersey's Giants Stadium grossed a whopping $14.2 million.
