Metallica leads "Bonnaroo" DVD lineup
Metallica leads the list of acts appearing on Live From Bonnaroo 2008, a new DVD due in January and filmed at the seventh edition of the popular music festival this past June. Additional artists featured on the disc include Pearl Jam, the Raconteurs, Jack Johnson, My Morning Jacket and several others. The DVD was originally offered only to fans who bought tickets to the 2008 show, but is now being made available to the general public for a limited time. The hard-rocking Metallica was a somewhat controversial choice for the usually laid-back Bonnaroo event. Drummer Lars Ulrich said the band, veterans of the European festival circuit, were glad to participate in a similar event at home: [

And I think it's awesome that that's starting to happen now with, you know, Bonnaroo and Coachella and the whole festival thing in America is just starting to, like, sort of pop a little more." The eighth edition of Bonnaroo will take place from June 11th through June 14th, 2009 at its usual location, a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee.
