Mick Jagger keeps 'em laughing at the BAFTA awards
Mick Jagger might be considering a career in comedy after the response he got last Sunday (February 8th) at the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) awards in London. UPI reported that Jagger was on hand at the Royal Opera House to present the evening's top prize and had the crowd in stitches.Jagger, who was riffing in front of such big screen A-listers as Goldie Hawn, Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, joked "I want to say how honored I am to be presenting this award tonight. Just in case you're wondering how this came about, I am the founding member of the RMEP, which is the Rock star-Movie star Exchange Program. Tonight, Sir Ben Kingsley will be singing 'Brown Sugar' at the Grammys. Sir Anthony Hopkins is in a recording studio with Amy Winehouse and Dame Judi Dench is gamely trashing hotel rooms somewhere in New York City."
He went on to say, "We're hoping that next week Sir Brad and all the Pitt family will be performing The Sound Of Music at the Brit Awards."
The Rolling Stones are currently on a break. Jagger is reportedly working on solo material with the Eurythmics' Dave Stewart.
