Axl Rose fighting with manager?
Guns N' Roses frontman and sole original member Axl Rose is reportedly squabbling with his powerhouse manager, Irving Azoff. According to the New York Daily News, a source said that Rose has fired and rehired Azoff at least three times in the last five weeks. Azoff has allegedly been pleading with Rose to help with plans to revive sales of the latest Guns N' Roses album, Chinese Democracy, but according to the source, "Axl doesn't want anything to do with it. He won't come out of his house."A source close to Azoff said, "Axl is Axl. People get hired and fired all the time in this business."
However, a representative for Azoff downplayed the reports, saying, "We're in daily contact with Axl, and we look forward to continuing to support him and Guns N' Roses."
Chinese Democracy was released as a Best Buy exclusive last November, after a 15-year wait that saw every member of the original band except Rose depart, and had many fans thinking the record would never come out at all.
But sales of the CD have stalled at under one million, and except for two interviews and some postings on fan message boards, Rose has done no promotion for the record. Although there have been rumors of tours and videos, nothing has surfaced so far.
