Bret Michaels suffers nose fracture and busted lip

Bret Michaels suffered a nose fracture and busted lip after getting hit in the head by a set piece during Sunday's (June 7th) Tony Awards. The Poison singer and reality TV star's publicist Joann Mignano said that Michaels received three stitches in his lip and had a CAT scan on Monday (June 8th) as a precautionary measure.

Mignano said that although Michaels is "pretty bruised up," he is in good spirits and laughed after the incident, when show host Neil Patrick Harris joked that he "gave head banging a whole new meaning."

Michaels and Poison performed during the show's opening number. Michaels' injury occurred as he was leaving the stage and smacked into a piece of scenery.

In other news, the Tonys were seen by 7.45 million people on Sunday, marking a 19 percent increase over the audience from last year's award show.
