Jon Bon Jovi helps the homeless with new housing
Jon Bon Jovi is teaming up with two Philadelphia-based homeless advocacy groups to build an environmentally friendly housing facility for 79 men and women. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, he was on hand this week for the start of the building's construction, which marks a first-time partnership between Project Home and Bethesda Project. Bon Jovi has helped to build affordable housing in Philadelphia, New Orleans and his home state of New Jersey through his Philadelphia Soul Foundation. He said this week that the new residence illustrates "the power of we."Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora recently recorded of the classic "Stand By Me" to send "a musical message of worldwide solidarity" to the Iranian people.
Bon Jovi was recently inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame.
The band plans to release a DVD and a book later this year.
