Green Day book New Year's Eve gig

Green Day will ring in 2010 with TV host Carson Daly. The band is booked to play live from New York City's Times Square as part of NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly. Daly tells the Associated Press that he's "beyond excited" to have Green Day perform on New Year's Eve.

Green Day's latest album, 21st Century Breakdown, has sold over 800,000 copies.

Green Day performed on Thursday, November 5th at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin.
