AC/DC: Biggest live band ever in Australia

AC/DC have toppled U2 as the biggest live band ever to play in Australia.

The band sold an astonishing 212,729 tickets for their three shows at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney. U2 previously held the record, with 211,747 tickets sold at the same venue during their 2006 Vertigo tour.

As the cannons sounded at the end of For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) on February 22, 2010, the gross for the record-breaking run in Sydney was expected to exceed $25 million. Add to that an expected $4 million in merchandising and you've got a winner.
