Foo Fighters: In Your HonorWritten by The Rock Radio staff, July 2005 © The Rock Radio
Formed in 1995 by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters celebrate 10 years of strong worldwide following with their 5th studio album "In Your Honor". With memories still fresh of their open support of unsuccessful US presidential candidate John Kerry, this double-CD album is destined to succeed. Not least because of the fact that you get effectively two albums for the price of one!
Disc one comprises of some of the heaviest rocking tunes the band has recorded to date and hits the nail on the head. Attacking drum and guitar play take the best out of Grohl's impressive vocals. You will be forgiven for forgetting that this man was actually sitting behind a drum kit at Nirvana! While Disc one rocks hard, Disc two is an acoustic album that serves more like a B-side. Despite being a solid collection of melodic songs which at times strongly reminds of Nirvana's 1994 classic "Unplugged In New York", Foo Fighters are at their best when they rock loud.
Buying this album is highly recommended. In fact it is probably the best $15 (or equivalent in your part of the world) you could spend this year.
