Metallica songs turned into lullabies

The song "Enter Sandman" will take on a whole new meaning on August 29th when Lullaby Renditions of Metallica hits the streets. The CD features "dreamy" renditions of Metallica staples such as "Battery" and "Master of Puppets," complete with glockenspiel, vibraphone, mellotron, harps, bells and more instruments you're not likely to hear on an actual Metallica album. A press release promised that "the music that set the standard for aggressive, concussion-inducing rock will soon be lulling infants to sleep," although some critics still argue that the metal band induced drowsiness in fans of all ages with 2003's St. Anger album.

The CD is one of the first three releases in the Rockabye Baby! series issued by Baby Rock Records, with Radiohead and Coldplay songs featured on the other two. Future installments will focus on the music of Tool, the Cure, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, the Smashing Pumpkins, Queens of the Stone Age and several others.

The complete track listing for Lullaby Renditions of Metallica is: "...And Justice For All," "Battery," "Enter Sandman," "Wherever I May Roam," "Nothing Else Matters," "The Unforgiven," "One," "(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth," "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)," "Fade To Black" and "Master Of Puppets."
